Greetings, neighbors! I’m Noah Olson with your Local Voices update—here’s what’s happening around Inver Grove Heights today and in the near future.
City Government Events
Tonight, the Environmental Advisory Commission meets at 7:00 PM to discuss ongoing sustainability initiatives and environmental planning. The public is welcome to observe in Council Chambers. This is a good chance to hear updates on air quality, water resources, and conservation efforts.
Later this week, on Monday, September 28, the City Council will hold its regular meeting at 6:00 PM. As always, there’s a public comment period and agenda info will be available on the city website ahead of time.
Community & Special Events
The “Let’s Pawty” Halloween Dog Event is coming up on October 4—a fun gathering for pet owners and animal lovers with games, contests, and treats. Costumes are welcome!
Active Aging Week runs October 5–9. It’s all about wellness for older adults—classes, workshops, and social opportunities designed to help folks stay active and connected.
For those who enjoy creative play, the Brightside Playzone is now open. A great spot for families with young children or anyone looking to break away for imaginative fun.
Looking ahead, Holidays in the Heights, December 4–12, will bring festive traditions like tree lighting, holiday swims, and craft fairs. Perfect for getting in the spirit of the season early.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Getting out to these events means two things: you’ll stay in the loop about what’s happening in our city, and you’ll help strengthen community bonds. Whether it’s policy decisions, holiday crafts, or playing with pups, being involved makes a difference.
If you ever want to see more—especially events geared toward families, fitness, or pets—just let me know. I’ll be happy to keep them coming.
