Hey neighbors, it’s Noah Olson here with your round-up of what’s happening in Inver Grove Heights today and in the coming days. Whether you’re looking to weigh in on city issues, enjoy live tunes, or take part in a community festival—you’ll find something for you.
What’s Happening Today
City Council Work Session
Join the City Council tonight at 6:00 PM in Room #3 at the Veterans Memorial Community Center. This is a great opportunity to hear about issues shaping our city and participate in local government. Lights, agenda, citizen input—everything that matters.
Coming Up This Week
Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission Meeting
Wednesday at 7:00 PM. If you care about the parks, trails, and recreation offerings, this is your chance to know what’s planned and give feedback.
IGH Days Community Celebration (Sept 9-13)
A full-weekend festival featuring all kinds of events: farmers market at VMCC, music on patios, food, games, a parade, fireworks, classic cars, and more. There’s even a pet contest, business expo, and youth entrepreneur market. There’s fun for families, kids, pets, & everyone in between.
Regular Events to Keep in Mind
• Summer Acoustics—Live acoustic music several nights a week at Mississippi Pub.
• Wednesday Bingo at Drkula’s starting around 6:30 PM.
• Saturday Patio Music at Jersey’s Bar & Grill (5-8 PM).
How to Plan and Participate
Most of the events around town are free or low-cost, though things like festivals often have “button” fees or small charges. Be sure to check event websites for details. For city meetings, there’s no cost—and you can find the agenda online in advance if you want to follow what’s being discussed.
If you want to stay ahead, keep an eye on the city’s Calendar of Events and the IGH Days schedule. I’ll be back with what’s happening next week, too.
