The Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization (LMRWMO) has introduced a Storm Drain Stenciling Program. - Plant Native Gardens and Rain Gardens: Incorporate native vegetation and rain gardens into your landscaping to absorb runoff and filter pollutants. Educational resources and grant opportunities are available through the Landscaping for Clean Water Program.
- Keep Storm Drains Clear: Ensure that leaves, grass clippings, and fertilizers are kept off driveways and streets to prevent them from entering storm drains. Consider adopting a drain in your neighborhood to keep it free of debris.
