The Inver Grove Heights City Council has postponed a decision on a proposed one-year moratorium on data center developments following legal threats from QLevr LLC, a developer planning a 54,000-square-foot facility at the former Travel Tags property on Carmen Avenue East.
QLevr LLC submitted its application on April 27, prior to the council’s initial 3-2 vote in May to enact the moratorium. The company argues that its application should be exempt from the moratorium due to its submission date. In response, the council has deferred further action until June to allow for additional deliberation.
Residents have expressed concerns about potential impacts on local utilities, including noise, water usage, and sewer discharge. The council’s decision to delay aims to balance these community concerns with the developer’s legal position.
