Inver Grove Heights boasts a dynamic arts and culture scene that offers residents and visitors a variety of engaging events and activities throughout the year. From music in the park to community art projects, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Music in the Park
One of the highlights of the summer is the ‘Inver Groove: Music in the Park’ series. Held at South Valley Park, these family-friendly concerts feature a range of musical performances. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the live entertainment. Concerts typically last about 45 minutes and are free to attend. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are also welcome.
Community Art Projects
The city has also embraced community art initiatives, such as the ‘Hands On Art- Mosaic Benches’ project. This program invites participants to collaborate with local artists to create mosaic designs for benches at the Veterans Memorial Community Center playground and Simley Island Park. Open to individuals aged 5 and older, these workshops foster creativity and community spirit.
Annual Festivals and Events
Inver Grove Heights hosts a variety of annual festivals that celebrate the community’s rich culture. Events like the Touch-A-Truck and the Fishing Derby provide opportunities for families to engage in fun activities and connect with neighbors. Additionally, the city partners with local businesses and nonprofits to offer special events that bring the community together.
