Exciting New Restaurants & Concepts
One of the biggest new additions on the horizon is Official Fried Chicken, which recently announced it will open a brick-and-mortar location at 9043 Broderick Boulevard in Inver Grove Heights. The arrival of this fast-casual fried chicken concept, known for its sandwiches, tenders, sides, dirty sodas and soft serve, follows its debut in Edina and is part of the brand’s first wave of permanent restaurants in the metro area. The space is taking over what was once a Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings, with light remodeling planned before opening.
Another eagerly anticipated opening is Culver’s, slated for fall 2026. It’ll be located near Upper 55th Street along Blaine Avenue. With its signature ButterBurgers®, cheese curds and frozen custard, it’s adding a classic Midwest favorite to our local lineup.
Food Truck & Restaurant Favorites That Feel Like Home
Don Papi Chulo, a local food truck by Ramona and Jose Nopala, has evolved into a permanent spot in IGH. Known for its authentic Mexican food and Mexican-inspired snacks (botanas), they continue to draw praise for both flavor and homey authenticity.
On more familiar grounds, places like Inver Grove Brewing Co., B-52 Burgers and Brew, and the Cahill Diner remain steady favorites. Whether it’s a casual burger, a classic diner breakfast, or a flight of local brews, these spots offer reliable comfort and welcoming atmosphere.
Events & Food Truck Culture
Our city’s Food Fest and IGH Days Food Truck Festival events continue drawing crowds of neighbors, families, and food lovers. With vendors like Angelita’s Tacos, Eggroll Queen, Philicious Phillys, Waffle Bar Food Truck, and more rotating through, there’s always something new to try—even if you already returned multiple times. These festivals are free to attend—just bring your appetite.
The Mobile Food Vendor Information from the city notes these food-truck gatherings are designed to bring together people from all walks of life, pairing bold flavors with community fun like yard games and live music.
