Inver Groove Music in the Park: Soundtracks for Our Neighborhoods
One of the longest-running fixtures in Inver Grove Heights’ arts eco-system is Inver Groove Music in the Park, a free, mid-morning concert series at South Valley Park. Intended especially for families and young kids, performances feature local bands and acts in 45-minute sets. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic to enjoy music in the open air—simple, accessible, and deeply rooted in neighborhood connection.
IGH Days: Our Multi-Day Community Festival
Every September, Inver Grove Heights Days (IGH Days) marks a signature moment when the town pauses and creates space for arts, food, music, and fireworks. From a parade brimming with marching bands and floats to live performances, classic car shows, bingo tents, food festivals, and a fireworks display over Simley Island Park, the festival turns familiar spaces—streets, parks, the Veterans Memorial Community Center—into stages for community celebration. IGH Days is also a moment for local artists, nonprofits, and youth performers to shine.
Spotlight: Local Artists & Where to See Them
Burgers and local bands go hand in hand in IGH—venues like Mississippi Pub and Jersey’s Bar & Grill host Acoustics on the Patio nights; Drkula’s 32 Bowl adds live acoustic kahunas and even VINGO nights. These informal stages give emerging musicians chances to build repertoire, audiences, and confidence.
Where Art Meets Community
Beyond musical performance, visual arts and creative workshops are growing too. Gertens Garden Center puts on garden-inspired crafts and wall hanging workshops; local galleries and community centers collaborate to present artisans’ fairs, kid-friendly art activities, and markets for makers. These events weave art into everyday public life, not just special occasions.
How You Can Plug In
Whether you’re a musician looking for your first public gig, a visual artist wanting to sell your work, or just someone who loves live music and art, there’s a spot for you here. Volunteer for IGH Days, perform or exhibit in Acoustic night events, or join a workshop. Reach out via city or event committee pages—most opportunities are open to anyone interested. Inver Grove Heights is big enough to have variety, small enough to maintain real connections.
