Hi neighbors! I’m Noah Olson, bringing you a roundup of what’s happening in Inver Grove Heights today and in the near future. Whether you’re looking for something to do this evening, or preparing for the big community festival coming up, here’s your guide.

Events Today & This Week

Environmental Advisory Commission Meeting

Thu, August 27 at 6:00 p.m. — City Hall Council Chambers. The commission will review environmental policies and hear public input. All interested residents are welcome.

Weekly Live Music & Acoustics

Through the end of summer, enjoy regular live acoustic performances throughout IGH—Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays—at spots like Mississippi Pub and Jersey’s Bar & Grill. Check the community calendar for times. These summer nights are perfect for catching up with friends, grabbing dinner, and enjoying local talent.

On the Horizon

IGH Days Festival — September 9 – 13

This is the big one! IGH Days is your five-day community celebration full of fun for all ages. Expect a classic car show, a parade, live music, a bike ride, food trucks, games, and fireworks. It’s a great time to reconnect with neighbors and enjoy what our city has to offer.

Farmers Market Continues

Keep stopping by the Saint Paul Farmers’ Market at the Veterans Memorial Community Center parking lot on Sundays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fresh produce, local honey, and artisan goods make this a go-to Sunday morning stop.

Looking Ahead: Fall & Seasonal Events

Once summer winds down, mark your calendar for fall favorites: the Fall Fest at the Farmers Market; Let’s Pawty, a dog-friendly Halloween event; Ghostly Gathering; active-aging programs; and winter’s Holidays in the Heights. The Parks & Recreation schedule and city brochures will have details when dates are finalized.

How to Stay Updated

  • Check the city website calendar under “Community Events” for the latest info and meeting times.
  • Follow IGH social media channels for last-minute changes related to weather or venue.
  • Pick up posters at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, local shops, and coffeehouses—many events still rely on these to spread the word.

That’s it for now—have a great evening, and I hope to see you at one of these events soon!
