In a recent decision, the Inver Grove Heights City Council voted 3-2 to enact a one-year moratorium on the construction and expansion of data centers within the city. The moratorium was prompted by a proposal from QLevr LLC to build a 54,000-square-foot data center on the former Travel Tags site along Carmen Avenue East. During the moratorium, city staff will conduct comprehensive studies to evaluate how data centers might affect Inver Grove Heights’ infrastructure, including water and sewer systems, as well as the local environment.
